Klyde Warren Park Hosts Celebratory Weekend To Mark One Year Anniversary


What: One Year Anniversary Weekend: To celebrate the first anniversary of its opening, Klyde Warren Park will host a weekend full of free family-friendly activities Oct. 24 – 27. In its first year, the park has welcomed close to one million visitors, held over 900 programs and hosted nearly 50 special events. With the park’s restaurant, Savor, and its companion kiosk, Relish, officially open, the park is now complete. Savor will host its grand opening this month.

Head to the park to help us celebrate and enjoy free activities and performances all weekend long. Plans include:

Thursday, Oct. 24:

  • 12:15 – 1 p.m.: Ideas in Bloom with the Staff of the Woodall Rodgers Park Foundation (The Dallas Morning News Reading and Games Room)
  • 5:30 – 6 p.m.: Skyline 360 Tour – Dallas Center for Architecture (The Dallas Morning News Reading and Games Room)
  • 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.: Yoga – Bikram Yoga Dallas (Ginsburg Family Great Lawn)
  • 8:00 – 10:30 p.m.: Music from Le Cure (Muse Family Performance Pavilion)

Friday, Oct. 25:

  • 6:30 p.m. – Midnight: Carmen Simulcast from The Dallas Opera (Muse Family Performance Pavilion and Ginsburg Family Great Lawn)
  • Activities include a pre-show sing-along and Carmen costume contest

Saturday, Oct. 26:

  • 9 – 10 a.m.: Insanity Workout with Coach Jimmy (Ginsburg Family Great Lawn)
  • 10 – 11 a.m.: Yoga – Dallas Yoga Center (Ginsburg Family Great Lawn)

The 5.2-acre deck park, designed by the Office of James Burnett, creates an urban green space over the existing Woodall Rodgers Freeway between Pearl and St. Paul Streets in Downtown Dallas.
