Congratulations to Park Designer OJB on a 2012 ASLA Award Win!

by Lauren Smart

We are thrilled to announce that our very own landscape architecture design team – The Office of James Burnett – has won a 2012 American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) Professional Award! Each year, the ASLA Professional Awards recognize the greatest landscape architecture ventures around the globe. OJB was one of 37 winners out of more than 600 international project entries for its work on the Sunnylands Center & Gardens project in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

"As you move through the landscape, you are aware of being under the dappled shade, next to the water; you hear the sounds, hear and feel the gravel underfoot,” Burnett told us of the project. “The experience should transport you from the everyday world. We hope our design for Klyde Warren Park will do the same. We want visitors to leave the park saying 'wow, I can’t believe a green oasis exists within Dallas’ vibrant city center.'"

Burnett hopes his team’s landscape design will help the park forge real connections between Uptown, downtown and the growing Arts District in Dallas. Burnett feels strongly that Klyde Warren Park will become the beating heart of Dallas saying, “We are so honored to have had such a big role in the design of Klyde Warren Park as we know it will enhance the civic realm and boost Dallas’ stature as a great American city.”

Congratulations again to our outstanding landscape architect, The Office of James Burnett! To see their team’s incredible design come to life is only one of the many reasons we are so excited for our grand opening festivities October 27-28!
