Klyde Warren Park Celebrates Five Years of Supplying the Fun


DALLAS, TEXAS (October 19, 2017) – This month, Klyde Warren Park celebrates its fifth anniversary and to honor the occasion, Dallas’ favorite greenspace will host three days of free unique programming activities. Starting with Jazz on the Green, presented by The Dallas Foundation, on Thursday, October 26, The Dallas Opera’s live simulcast of La Traviata on Friday, October 27 and culminating with the 5th Anniversary Celebration, presented by Nissan on Saturday, October 28 there are plenty of opportunities for guests to take part in the park’s anniversary fun.

“We are so proud of everything that Klyde Warren Park has accomplished in the past five years. Not only have we always offered a safe, pristine and active greenspace for all our guests, but we continue to expand the list of 1,300 free programming activities that we offer each year,” said Tara Green, president of Klyde Warren Park. “We owe so much of our success to the support of our guests and hope they join us in this celebration of our accomplishments!”

Anniversary activity highlights include:

  • Thursday, October 26 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. – Jazz on the Green presented by The Dallas Foundation featuring the Grammy-award winning One O’Clock Lab Band
  • Friday, October 27 starting at 6:30 p.m. – The Dallas Opera presents a live simulcast of the opening night of La Traviata
  • Saturday, October 28 from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. – Klyde Warren Park’s 5th Anniversary Celebration, presented by Nissan

Klyde Warren Park’s 5th Anniversary Celebration, presented by Nissan will feature family activities throughout the day, including performances by students from Booker T.  Washington High School for the Visual and Performing Arts, an interactive art demonstration by Julia Johnson from Art by Auburn in addition to crafts and games from longtime park partners. In the evening, starting at 6:00 p.m. there will be a short program featuring a birthday cake designed by Richard Ruskell from Food Network’s Cake Wars, followed by Lone Star Circus’ Cirque in the Park performance.

Since its opening in 2012, the park has relied on public funding to provide nearly 1,300 free programming activities and educational opportunities each year. Every day Klyde Warren Park supplies the fun for all of its guests and during its fifth anniversary, the fun is even bigger!
