Sprawling Urban Park Revitalizes Dallas
Klyde Warren Park was recently featured by Green Building News, an online publication highlighting major eco-friendly design and construction projects across the nation.
The story highlights the history and impact the park has had on the city of Dallas, as well as efforts to create a "pedestrian-friendly environment that is also sustainable and eco-friendly."
Klyde Warren Park earned LEED Gold certification in August and was awarded Best Urban Space from the Urban Land Institute in October.
“We had a unique opportunity to create something from nothing,” said Tara Green, the park’s president. “We wanted to be environmentally friendly. We wanted to reduce the heat island effect and we wanted to use whatever resources, whether that may be energy savings through solar energy or water conservation.”
