First Week!

Lauren Smart

Klyde Warren Park is officially open! It's hard to believe that after years of planning and fundraising on the part of the Woodall Rodgers Park Foundation, with the help from the City of Dallas, our generous donors and the visionaries on our board – the wait is over!

We had more than 44,000 visitors this weekend according to our clicker count, attending more than 45 programmed activities and enjoying the park! It was truly amazing to see the park filled with people laughing and smiling, lounging on the lawn and the bustle of children climbing through the playground. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us.

Now that the park is open it might be easy to sit back and relax (which we hope everyone in the park will do!), but here in the Woodall Rodgers Park Foundation office we want this park to be a hub of activity. We've planned 4-5 activities everyday, so that our visitors can enjoy zumba classes, yoga, ballroom dance classes, children's activities and more! All completely free and open to the public. We have games carts where you can check out badminton, checkers, chess and more. Our reading room is stocked with daily newspapers, magazines and books for you to enjoy while you are in the park. We also have WiFi in the park, so get out of the office and grab a table in the park. All free!

We hope that you will stay up-to-date with what is happening in the park through our website and social media (we're on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and FourSquare). Send us your photos and feedback. This is a park for you to enjoy! See you on the lawn!
