Free concert on the Southwest Porch featuring Mikayla Griffin

Join us on the Southwest Porch for a free concert featuring singer-songwriter Mikayla Griffin!

MikaylaGriffin is a 16-year-old singer-songwriter from Cleburne, Texas with a voice that is as smooth as velvet. Mikayla learned to speak and sing at the same time and sang harmonies while still in a car seat. She grew up watching her grandfather from the side of the stage, as he performed, and fell into singing and writing songs as if it were just something everyone did. She has been onstage since she was eight and has become a regular favorite at many venues.
When she was 11 years old Tim Jorgensen, GM of HOB Dallas, discovered her at their open mic and used her to spearhead the Kids Who Rock shows. This lasted two years. Mikayla then spent an entire summer playing to the dinner crowd every Saturday. She also performed at the House of Blues in Las Vegas. These days she is traveling quite a bit and performing her special flavor of music.  She has a 10 song album professionally recorded and produced. She did all of the backing vocals on her album, some of it in five-part harmony and also created artwork to correspond with each of her songs. She plays guitar, banjo, ukulele, harmonica, and is a talented animator.

Recently Mikayla was a winner in the singer/songwriter category of The Great American Song Contest.
