Dear Friends, Neighbors and Supporters:

This year has been an extraordinarily important one in the life of your Klyde Warren Park. Celebrating our seventh anniversary and welcoming our 10 millionth guest, we also announced significant progress towards an expansion that will add two new decks to the Park’s current footprint.

Though future-focused, it remains our top priority to offer more than 1,300 FREE programs and events throughout the year. This, of course, costs money, and we need your support. Some 2019 highlights include:

• Three new annual events, uniting thousands of Dallasites with fun, family activities:

– A Memorial Day Music Fest, featuring three stages, 12 bands and 40,000 attendees listening to diverse local music that ranged from pop to country to soul to Tejano funk.

– An Independence Day Celebration, with patriotic tunes from the US Army’s 36th Infantry Division Band, spectacular fireworks and 25,000 enjoying cold treats and games from dozens of vendors.

– A Labor Day Food Truck Rally for 15,000, eating delectable sweets, vegan cuisine and Greek, Mexican, Asian and Italian fare, all while listening to popular DJs and bands and playing games on the Park’s expansive Ginsburg Family Great Lawn.

• Our seventh annual Tree Lighting Celebration for 20,000, with snow flurries, fireworks, talented and diverse musicians performing in the Muse Family Performance Pavilion and, of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus.

• Family-friendly movies every Saturday during the months of June, July and August, averaging between 500-1,000 guests each week from neighborhoods throughout the city.

Philanthropic and business leaders from around the country regularly visit us to learn more. Klyde Warren Park is second only to New York’s Bryant Park in bringing free programs to local citizens, and now others are following suit. There are more than 100 programmed deck parks being proposed around the country (three in Atlanta alone). Decision-makers are beginning to understand not only the economic impact of parks like ours (Klyde Warren Park has generated almost $3 billion for Dallas), but also the importance of bringing together people of different ages, abilities, ethnicities, income levels
and political and religious preferences, to foster unity and connection, break down barriers, create collective memories and share joy.

We would be honored and grateful if you would consider making an end-of-year donation to Klyde Warren Park. Unlike other city parks, ours is operated by a private Foundation and must raise revenue annually for maintenance, security, capital improvements, programming and events. Please help us continue to be a change agent for Dallas and to bring our community together a little more each day.
