Erika White Joins Klyde Warren Park Staff as Vice President of Events & Programs

DALLAS (May 28, 2015) — Klyde Warren Park announced today the hire of Erika White as vice president of events and programs. White joins the team as Klyde Warren Park plans to host its first-ever food and wine fundraising event, called Park & Palate, this fall. The two-day event, showcasing regionally renowned chefs and wineries from around the world, will take place Sept. 25-26, 2015.

White, a Texas native and 10-year food festival veteran, will spearhead Park & Palate, the newest addition to Klyde Warren Park’s annual signature events. Park & Palate will feature celebrity chefs, a Dallas-style grand tasting, cooking demos, live music, and a unique VIP experience. The two-day celebration will highlight the innovative Dallas restaurant scene as well as key tastemakers throughout the region. All proceeds from Park & Palate will go directly back to Klyde Warren Park, supporting its daily operations and free year-round programming.

“We are eager to add a signature annual philanthropic event as Klyde Warren Park approaches its third year mark,” said Tara Green, president of Klyde Warren Park. “Over the past two and a half years, we have listened to and studied what our patrons enjoy, and we have worked those ideas into our plans for the future. We are hopeful and excited that Park & Palate will bring all our patrons together – philanthropists, foodies, wine connoisseurs, and music lovers alike. Even more, Erika’s decade of experience in the food and wine industry will bring tremendous expertise as we plan to host this inaugural event. We could not be more thrilled to have her on board.”

White has produced some of the most well-known food and wine festivals in the country. She recently moved to Dallas from Austin, where she worked at C3 Presents and helped launch both the Austin Food and Wine Festival and Nashville's Music City Food + Wine Festival. She oversaw wine, food, and spirits activations at Austin City Limits Music Festival, Chipotle Cultivate Food, Ideas and Music Festival, Lollapalooza, and more. White’s background also includes working at the Texas Hill Country Wine and Food Festival for several years, first as an assistant and later as the festival’s director. She played a key part in the team that brought that festival back to profitability before it was sold to C3 in 2011.

“I am honored to be a part of the Klyde Warren Park team and could not be more excited to announce Park & Palate,” said White. “Once I visited the park, I instantly saw an opportunity for a food and wine festival. Dallas has been so welcoming to me and because of this strong culinary community, I know Park & Palate will be a great success.”
