Klyde Warren Park to Host Third Anniversary Celebration, Sponsored by Carnival Cruise Line

DALLAS (Oct. 13, 2015) — Klyde Warren Park will celebrate its third anniversary on Saturday, Oct. 17 and Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015, with weekend-long events sponsored by Carnival Cruise Line. Events will include Carnival’s Ultimate Cowboys Fan Fest featuring a free concert by country superstar Trace Adkins, the annual family festival and movie in the park.

“We are so thankful for Carnival Cruise Line’s support this year, which is allowing us to elevate our third anniversary celebration and offer even more memorable experiences for our patrons,” said Klyde Warren Park president Tara Green. “By tradition, we will host our annual family festival, which has been a hit with our patrons in past years. But, with the addition of a movie night on Saturday and the ultimate celebration of football, fun, and country music on Sunday, we are confident this will be our most memorable anniversary celebration yet. Klyde Warren Park prides itself on providing free events and programs year round and we are proud to partner with Carnival to help achieve that mission on such a special weekend for us.”

Since its opening three years ago, Klyde Warren Park has been recognized as a catalyst for change in Dallas, credited specifically for its economic impact on the Greater Dallas Area. This year, the park was awarded the Texas Society of Architects 2015 Citation of Honor, Best of Big D “Best Local Attraction” Readers' Choice Award, and “Best Free Workout” and “Best Park” awards by the Dallas Observer. Park Chairman Jody Grant and his wife Sheila also were awarded the prestigious Linz Award in April 2015 for their continued service to the park.

Welcoming approximately one million visitors each year, Klyde Warren Park hosts over

1,300 programs and special events annually, including fitness classes, lectures, live music, children’s activities, movie nights and holiday celebrations. The park also plays host to some of Dallas’ largest community and public events, including Fellowship Church’s Good Friday service, Bishop T.D. Jakes’ MegaFest, Dallas Symphony Orchestra concerts, simulcasts from The Dallas Opera, and more. Most recently, the park held its first fundraising event, Park & Palate, a celebration of wine and food benefiting Klyde Warren Park.

“It’s been another fantastic year for the park,” added Green. “We are thankful for the support of our corporate sponsors, including Cigna, Chase, Southwest Airlines and The Dallas Morning News, and continue to be very grateful for the overwhelming support of our patrons and the Greater Dallas Community.”
