KLYDE WARREN PARK’S SHEILA AND JODY GRANT CHILDREN’S PARK REOPENS TO WELCOME EVEN MORE CHILDREN AND FAMILIES

DALLAS (November 4, 2022) -- Klyde Warren Park today announced the re-opening of the Sheila andJody Grant Children’s Park, following a complete renovation and addition, offering a more expansive
and engaging space for children and families to gather and play together.

The addition, which captured underutilized space adjacent to the Children's Park, has enlarged the area
from 12,000-square feet to 18,000-square feet. The additional space will welcome even more children
to one of the most beautiful children’s parks in the country.

The new space features a 35-foot climbing tower and slide, an interactive water feature, a kid-sized
climbing wall, a shaded pavilion for birthday parties and family gatherings, and a myriad of other
engaging features. Play surfaces and landscaping have been refreshed throughout and the restrooms
were renovated. The Park remains free and open to the public daily from 8 AM to 9 PM, thanks to the
generosity of donors.

“We knew we wanted to increase the size of the Children’s Park from the day we opened 10 years ago,
and we have been dreaming about this day ever since,” said Jody Grant, Chairman of the Board of
Klyde Warren Park. “The addition and renovation would not have been possible without the Perots,
Sowdens, and Durhams, and to have it named in our honor is one of the highlights of our lives.”

The project was made possible by a $5 million gift from the Perot family, naming the Children’s Park in
honor of the Grants in recognition of the co-founders 18-year Park commitment. Additionally, The
Marinelle and Kip Sowden Charitable Foundation donated $1 million. Barbara and Steve Durham made
another generous donation, matching the gift they made 10 years ago to support the original Park.

“The Children’s Park has always been one of the most popular destinations within the Park, and this
addition will give our youngest visitors even more room to learn, explore and imagine,” said Kit Sawers,
Klyde Warren Park President. “From day one, it was determined that this unique and entertaining space
needed to be bigger. Children and their families stay for hours enjoying the equipment, engaging in
creative play and making new friends.”

The Children’s Park is one of three legacy enhancements completed in celebration of the Park’s 10th
anniversary. A bigger and shadier My Best Friend’s Park opened in November 2021, and the Nancy
Best Fountain began welcoming families in September 2022.
