DETAILS OF 'PARTY IN THE PARK' ANNOUNCED KLYDE WARREN PARK'S SIGNATURE FUNDRAISER

DALLAS (May 10, 2023) -- Klyde Warren Park’s annual fundraiser, Party in the Park, presented by Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC), will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023. Honorary Chairs for this signature event are Myrna and Bob Schlegel. Event Chairs include the Schlegels’ son, Kirby Schlegel, plus daughters and their spouses: Krystal and Luke Davis, Kari and Troy Kloewer and Kimberly and Justin Whitman.

“Everything about Klyde Warren Park is spectacular,” said Park Board member Myrna Schlegel. “From the nightly performances of the Nancy Best Fountain to the beautiful new Sheila and Jody Grant Children’s Park, Klyde Warren Park offers a beloved respite for the people of Dallas. We are delighted to be supporting this annual event with our entire family.”

Party in the Park celebrates everything about Klyde Warren Park, including the way it has transformed Dallas. Located in the heart of Big D, connecting downtown to uptown, the Park offers an exceptional 360-degree view of the Dallas skyline. The celebration will commence with a cocktail reception at the Nancy Best Fountain, presented by First United Bank. A casually elegant supper under the stars will follow, courtesy of dinner sponsor SMU. Party in the Park will culminate with dancing to music from Q The Band, underwritten by Klyde Warren Park founders Sheila and Jody Grant.

“For more than a decade, Klyde Warren Park has surpassed all expectations, including its economic and community impact,” said Kirby Schlegel. “Its influence reaches far beyond Dallas city limits, leaving an incredibly positive impression on tourists who travel to our city.”

Managed by the Woodall Rodgers Park Foundation, the 5.2-acre park relies on contributions from donors to support maintenance, free programs and educational activities for more than one million visitors each year. Fundraising events such as Party in the Park are critical to the nonprofit’s ability to serve the public daily.

“We are exceptionally grateful for the leadership of the volunteers and longtime sponsors like RNDC who have elevated the presence and profile of Klyde Warren Park,” said Park President & CEO Kit Sawers. “To have the Schlegel family chairing Party in the Park underscores the importance of this fundraising event for our treasured green space.”
