The Nancy Best Fountain is turning orange to bring awareness to HEAT Action Day!

As the climate crisis intensifies, heatwaves are becoming more frequent, prolonged, and severe—posing a growing threat to communities worldwide. Every year, heatwaves put millions of people at risk of heat-related illnesses and claim the lives of thousands. 

Heat Action Day (HAD) 2025 is set to be held on Monday June 2nd, 2025. 

Heat Action Day is a global event that seeks to engage hundreds of Red Cross and Red Crescent branches, cities, and other organizations around the world, to raise public awareness about the rising risks associated with extreme heat and inspire simple actions to prevent impacts through a coordinated day of action.
